Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31 on the eve of the feast of All Saints (the word Halloween in fact comes from a contraction of "All Saints' Eve"). It’s a festival of probable pagan origins, particularly Celtic, and later Christianized.

Typical activities to celebrate Halloween are to participate in costume parties, make decorations, carve pumpkins to get lanterns and scary heads, shoot fireworks, make jokes, visit castles and other haunted buildings, tell scary stories or watch horror movies. And of course: "trick-or-treating", children in costume go from house to house asking for candy as a gift.
