History and Origin of Spider-Man, the character
Behind Spider-Man's red and blue suit there is an unlikely hero younger than expected: Peter Parker, an orphaned adolescent who lives with his aunt and uncle after the death of his parents. According to the canon, Parker acquired his superpowers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. His superpowers include the ability to scale walls and buildings, thanks in part to his superhuman strength which allows him to remain attached to the surface. He also has uncommon agility, and can sense danger through his "spidey sense".
Spider-Man also has purpose-built wrist-mounted devices from which he can shoot webs that are both sticky and strong, and from which he can swing as if they were vines. Spider-Man also often uses them when fighting enemies.
Spider-Man first appeared in a Marvel comic book in 1962, Amazing Fantasy. It was created by artist Steve Ditko and writer Stan Lee, creator of many other famous superheroes such as Thor, Hulk, Iron Man. Stan Lee said he received the inspiration for the character by watching a fly walk on a wall. In the more recent 2000s, Super-Man joined the Avengers alliance, a group of superheroes who join forces to fight evil, the subject of recent films such as Avengers: Endgame.
